Patrick

Hello 20/20
I believe this conspiracy theory about 9/11 was a best selling book in France and much debated seriously by your "intellectuals". Charlie Sheen read it (not sure he reads) but tres tardivement. It's a French theory!

You shouldn't make fun of someone who is trying to bring needed questioning and criticism into a "taboo" topic. Conspiracy? What? Who the F knows! But it is a FACT that there are way too many contradictions and inconsistencies in the gov'ts version of events. Other than being attacked: I don't know what happened. But I do know enough to know that we are being lied to. Again.

April 2, 2006 6:38 PM

elibi

I agree with anon. Even if your show is kinda funny for a French speaker who speaks English(blood and flood), you totally seem to reject the possibility of a conspiracy by making fun of Charlie Sheen. Well, watch "Painful deceptions", "911 in plane site" and "Loose change".
You might change your mind. here is the link for non-English speakers:

Bye all

Vous voyez 20/20, les "crazies" sont la.
Meme dans les commentaires ici. C'est fou mais c'est comme ca.
patrick
ps. mais je ne cede pas que l'origine de cet vision paranoiac est la belle France! Charlie Sheen est un dupe des Francais.
Quel influence...l'exception culturelle!

April 2, 2006 8:10 PM

Jo Ann

Oh Oh Vinvin... when you upset those who are involved at looking into the 9/11 conspiracy stuff, you upset some really vocal people!

He can make fun of anyone he wants to make fun of Anon. That's what comedy is, making fun of people... geez. And there is a lot about Charlie Sheen to make fun of.. he's a goofy guy.

April 2, 2006 8:23 PM

Just a hello from Minneapolis, Minnesota U.S.A.

Excellent!

Vinvin, does Clint Eastwood believe in the 9/11 conspiracy?

Call me insane, but wasn't that bit a little on the long side? I started laughing but it was getting tedious after about 2 minutes. I guess Charlie Sheen is an easy target...but I still have lots of questions about 911.

Edit it down to three minutes and you've got some comedy

Jo Ann

I speak French, but I gotta admit that I was confused by the "Charly Chin" bit. I thought Vinvin was saying, "Charlie Chan"!! He was a Chinese detective in the movies about 1,250 years ago.

Makes no difference. Vinvin's accent is a part of his charm.

We can misunderstand each other even when we have a common tongue.

"Common tongue"? Yuk! That sounds terrible.

Stan

April 5, 2006 9:47 AM

Jo Ann

Stan, I thought he was talking about Charlie Chan too!

One would say "We can misunderstand each other even when we have a common language. En Anglais, on as deux mots differents pour ce qu'il ya dans la bouche (tongue) and pour ce qu'on parle (language).

And yes, his accent is part of his charm :), like when he pronounces the final "s" in Arkansas.

Vin Vin/or 20/20

We (the Americans) need to understand how a young French high school student quits school to protest in the street until exams (when their lack of work will be forgiven and everyone will be given a pass) just because when they get there first job, they think it's an outrage they might get fired. This highly charged debate seems absurd to us. But we know that the French are the cultural exception and the civilizers of the world, but boy!, can you do your duty and explain this one to us please? Also these young people who kick in windows as well as nice young people on the ground and throw big rocks at police are not so easily understood either. Why don't you just shoot them?

Bon sachez au moins que je watch vos créations avec un grand sourire au levre, et qu'elles provoquent une augmentation du taux de cynisme dans la pensée.

To Mr. Lasteyrie and other readers:
The Harvard French Club publishes a magazine on Franco-American relations you might find interesting, in French and English. You can get a copy in major universities and institutions in France, or download it from

Chralie Sheen was in the 1991 film "The Rookie" with Clint Eastwood. His real name is Carlos Irwin Estevez and he was born in New York in September. Coincidence? I think not -the conspiracy thickens!!! (What is a urt? and please have all protests wrapped up before I vacation in France in August)

April 5, 2006 3:34 PM

GC Philo:

I tried to open your video, but nothing happens. I can only get an audio version with RealPlayer (and very funny by the way!) but not a video. Do you know if there's a problem?

Hm... For the sake of starting an acting career, I'm not sure if I should be in the "they were actually missile" camp, or the "remote controlled Boeings" camp.

Since Charlie Sheen has been an unctuous no-body who won't go away for several years now, I imagine adopting some of that 'edgy' insaon factor might be a last ditch effort to seem intense rather that like a perv.

Will watch videos at home. Good idea, I think there are a lot of misconceptions on both sides. I loved the 4 weeks I lived in Herault, and found the locals to be good people. Too bad everybody wanted to practice their English on me, I never got to learn French, other that Bonjour-ing everybody I met.

Simone:

Hi Cyrille,

I know this is re your other site, but just to confirm, "He's a hoot!" is only said when someone is both funny and charming. I might also say "He's a gas!" or "He's a riot!" to indicate the same thing. They are all compliments, and they could be used to describe you. No I don't think you should stop because you might offend-your humor is very insightful. In this case, I have no idea what Charlie Sheen is or isn't saying, don't reallly follow him, I do think the Bush admin lies alot, I do care about it, BUT I love your sense of humor (and so do my sons)....don't stop.;-)

April 6, 2006 5:38 AM

Simone:

PS: "What a kick!" is another one... which would roughly mean that something was really funny, a real pleasure. Like your site;-)
